I am offering an original (not a reproduction) English Single Draw 24 Power Quartermaster’s Telescope. Spyglasses of this type were designed and built to be used by the quartermaster detailed to steer the ship. Based on the design, the materials used, and the exceptional quality it was likely built during the early 1900’s in England. It measures 24½”closed, and 34” fully extended (including the 4" Sunshade and 7½" Draw Tube) and has a 2¼” aperture (object end). It appears that the entire scope is made of brass and the tapered main tube appears to have its original leather cover, which has the typical cracks and gouges. The draw tube is signed "C. ROBERTSON" who was probably an owner with Scottish ancestry. The 20 to 24 power view is reasonably clear, while the overall cosmetic condition is good, with no major damage, but does show years of sea duty. This nautical artifact is a rare and functional piece of International maritime history. Additional Nautical Items Available - Please Call Cliff @ 760-736-8101 For More Information.
